In Depth:
The Mountains Edge master-planned community has consistently ranked as the best-selling master-planned community in Nevada. It consists of an entire network of existing and planned schools, neighborhood shops, restaurants, offices. Hundreds of acres are devoted to parks and trail systems as well as open spaces. From the beginning, it was developed as the area’s first drought-tolerant community, designed to conserve water while providing wonderful desert views. There are always things to do in the neighborhood. Mountain’s Edge offers a calendar full of events and activities, such as fundraising runs, dog events, etc.
Many builders are involved in the master planned community. Over 500 acres have been dedicated to parks, trails, and open space. The “signature feature” of Mountains Edge is Exploration Peak, which is located at the community’s entrance and Exploration Park located at the mountain’s base. The lush desert landscaping provides a stong visual impact as it conserves the desert’s most important resource: water.
Diversity reigns as well. Home owners can choose from many styles, prices, and time frames. Mountain views are available from many different community locations. Residents are able to select from various well developed neighborhoods and communities as they enjoy the New Southwest.
The signature park is the Exploration Park, an 80-acre western-themed park at the base of Exploration Peak. Bicycle trails and walking paths lead up to several vantage points along the top of the peak. The park includes picnic areas, playgrounds, waterplay area, trails, replicas of western towns and villages, archaeology dig site, outdoor amphitheater and much more. The 20-acre Nathanial Jones Park is the newest park to open in Mountains Edge. There is a lighted basketball court, walking trails, tot lot and splash pad for kids. The park is named after an early Las Vegas pioneer. When lead and silver were discovered at nearby Potosi Mountain, Jones was sent by Brigham Young to oversee a mining operation in conjunction with the creation of a nearby Mormon outpost and fort in 1855.
